Detailed Information

The Zimmerman Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that was first established in Reno, Nevada in 2002. The evolution of the Zimmerman Gallery has taken many twists and turns. In moving to Tubac, AZ in 2009, the Zimmerman Gallery was originally on Calle Iglesia at the historic El Presidito Working Artists’ Studios. Owner Peter Zimmerman enjoyed many happy hours at El Presidito with fellow artist friends as he created his abstract art listening to improvisational jazz. The twists and turns continued when Zimmerman Gallery moved up front to Mercado de Baca and then to a straw bale studio in Amado AZ and then back to El Presidito. Along the journey, Peter moved to Michigan for several years to be near family, until the lure of retirement in Arizona brought him back to the Tubac artist community. The current Zimmerman Gallery includes a variety of artists and mediums with contemporary and Western themes. Owner Peter Zimmerman’s acrylic artwork is largely influenced by Abstract Expressionists such as Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Jackson Pollock, and Barnett Newman. The new location of the Zimmerman Gallery is 2 Camino Otero in the Village of Tubac, AZ. Phone (520) 310-0263. Gallery hours are Friday – Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (May – September) and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday – Sunday (October – April). The gallery is also open by chance or by appointment on Mondays throughout the year.
