A Rare gem in the desert, established in 1929 by Tirso Trujillo, whom homestead in Tumacacori Az in 1916. Triso followed his Father and Uncle to Tumacacori who also homestead late 1800’s in the Tumacacori Mountains to raise cattle. Triso saw his older sister, Maria Trujillo, thrive with an all-in-one gas station she built right across the from Father Kino’s Church (Tumacacori National Historical Park). He then built his bar 20 feet from her gas station. And its doors have been open since.
Trisos’ eldest son Abran T. Trujillo, (Abe) began bartending at the age of 21, in April 2010, Abe celebrated his 60th year bartending, all while raising six children, countless grandchildren, operating his father’s cattle ranch in the Tumacacori’s and from the county sheriff as deputy, finally retiring as County Attorney Investigator. Today, Abe’s eldest daughter and youngest son, Dolores and Ernesto (Ernie), own and operate the Historic Bar known by locals as “Abe’s”. With just about everything in the place being original, by stepping over the threshold, you seem to step back in time to a simpler time, surrounded by antique treasures, original wooden features with seemingly intentional character and cozy atmosphere. The best part of this rare gem, is that it belongs to everyone, come in with your 5-piece suit, your working cowboy boots or your Sunday best or worst. Order anything from a Manhattan To a whiskey neat. You will always be greeted and hosted as you are coming to our home. Words are hard to explain the experience you will get, it’s more of a feeling.Come on in and experience it for yourself, you will find some of the best people and stories, you might even catch Dolores playing a game of pool. Can’t wait to meet new friends and exchange a tale or two.
