Spain: Moors and Christians, Olives and Wine

March 12, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

$3.00 - $16.

Learn about how many of the foods, farming practices, culture, language, religion, architecture and artisanal trades which are today associated with the Southwest have distant origins from across the Atlantic. Many of these, in turn, are derived from Arabic and Roman practices.

About the Speakers
Jesus Garcia is the founder of the Kino Heritage Fruit Trees Project. Sonya Norman is the Public Programs Coordinator at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, as well as the daughter of a Spaniard. Both speakers are long-time museum employees and will be leaders on a September 2015 trip to Spain exploring this same topic.
