Matador and Muralist: Salvador Corona – An illustrated discussion – Thursday, April 4, 2pm
Longtime Tucson Museum of Art docent Corinne Milton will discuss the works of beloved Mexicanborn
muralist and decorative artist Salvador Corona (1895–1990) and show several paintings and
images of other works as well as the matador’s sword and other artifacts. Following a career as a
bullfighter, which ended when his leg was gored, Corona worked as an artist in Mexico, Tucson
and our own Santa Cruz County. His murals, easel paintings and decorated furniture illustrate
idyllic pastoral scenes of Mexico’s past, and many still grace homes and businesses in our area.
$7.50 adult, $4.50 youth 7-13, children free. Seating is limited; please call for reservations.
