Georges Simenon & Bottom of the Bottle

March 7, 2015 @ 7:00 am - 8:15 am

$7.50

Come hear Dwight Thibodeaux give an exciting talk about the most prolific author of the 20th century (425 novels), Georges Simenon, who lived with the gentleman ranchers and the “Cadillac Cowboys” on Santa Gertrudis Lane during the time of the Baca Float Ranch. Inspired by the personalities he met here, within weeks he wrote a novel, “The Bottom of the Bottle,” that was made into a movie that was filmed, in part, in Rio Rico and Nogales. Dwight will identify the real life personalities that inspired the characters in the book. Expect lots of photos of the places where Georges Simenon and his family lived (in an open marriage), including the Stud Barn and the Pink House (a 1924 one room schoolhouse).
