Exhibit: Mines, Miners & Communities – June 1 – Aug 31

July 1, 2014 @ 2:00 am - 10:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

$2 - $7

Mining: we are familiar with mines because we live in the Southwest. The image of a grizzled prospector with a pick axe comes to mind. But what is it like today? What do mines look like in the 21st century? What equipment is used? What do miners really do? A variety of antique and contemporary photographs show aspects of mining, from tracks and equipment, mine pits, blasting sites, mine ruins, to how miners and their families live with the good and bad of one of mankind’s oldest occupations. This is an international exhibition, with photographers from Hermosillo, Alamos, Tucson, Ruby, Tempe and Phoenix. An exhibit not to be missed! Two months only. Included with park admission.
