The Columbian Exchange

February 15, 2014 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

$15.00

This presentation by Jack Lasseter begins at 2pm. We all know that Columbus came to the New World in 1492, a date memorized in school, and that the “superior” Europeans subsequently conquered the Indians, many of whom died of contagious European diseases. But our knowledge of the significance of this event to our lives today ends there. Historical biologists believe that it was the most important event affecting humanity since the die-off of the large mammals at the end of the Last Ice Age during the Pleistocene. Come and hear why. You will be amazed. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. $15 per lecture. Please call for reservations and future dates, 520-398-2252. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the community effort to “Save the Presidio.”
